The winner of the Wellington Place photography competition has been announced!
Over the last two months, we have been running a photography competition #photocompWP, allowing you to enter creative captures of our business community, for the chance to win a GoPro HERO. We have had many fantastic entries or an incredibly high calibre, making it very difficult to choose the winner!
The competition was judged by Philip Welding, Course Leader in BA (Hons) Photography at Leeds Art University. Philip has 15 years’ experience working in photographic education and takes an active role in building photographic communities in Leeds. His own work has been published and exhibited both nationally and internationally.

1st Place: Kevinientphotography
“I selected this image because it demonstrates creative use of composition to highlight both the historical and contemporary within Wellington Place, whilst also transforming the subject to establish a dramatic feel. This photographer submitted a range of effective entries, but this one stood out for me”.
2nd Place: Rick Glover
“This image creatively combines two distinct elements of Wellington Place through the reflection, which is an inventive device for showing this within a single image. The person looking at the camera is framed well within the scene”.
3rd Place: Adam Duffield
“This image successfully uses the striking colour of the lights and reflection at night to show an alternative view of Wellington Place”.
