Here at Wellington Place we love to give back! This spring, we have been proud to support a range of incredible charities that make a real difference in people’s lives.
Here’s a look at some local charities we worked with over past couple of months and how our community has come together to support vital causes.
If you took part in any of the activities, we want to give you a huge heartfelt THANK YOU for making a difference, to those in need.
Leeds Women’s Aid
To mark International Women’s Day on 6th March, Wellington Place hosted She Creates, a special event celebrating creativity and empowerment. Through the on-the-day donations and a cake sale, together we raised funds for Leeds Women’s Aid. Our contribution will help to support women and children experiencing domestic violence and homelessness, providing them with essential services and safe accommodation.
Holbeck Together
Throughout March, our community donated clothes, food and toiletries to Holbeck Together, a charity dedicated to supporting older people and those in need within the Holbeck community.
Together we donated an amazing 20 bags and boxes! A big thank you to everyone that donated to the drive, with standout donations coming from Irwin Mitchell and Crowne Plaza Leeds. The donations will be distributed to those in need by Holbeck Together.
Leeds Mind
In recognition of Stress Awareness Month, we hosted a ceramic room workshop during April, and all ticket sales were donated to Leeds Mind. Mental health matters and it was great to come together for an important cause and contribute to Leeds Mind, which provides essential mental health support, advice and services in the community.
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund
Easter is a time for giving, and we marked the occasion with a donation drive for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF). CHSF is a vital charity which enables children, adults and families affected by congenital heart disease to live empowered lives. Our community donated much needed items, from snacks to sticker books, all to help bring comfort to children and their families in their time of need,
Hollybush Conservation Charity
And finally, during National Gardening Week at the end of April, we supported local conservation efforts by hosting a plant sale, with 50% of proceeds going to Hollybush Conservation Charity. Hollybush works to improve green spaces and promote environmental education. We were delighted to raise funds which will go towards continuing their brilliant work.
We’re incredibly proud of the generosity and enthusiasm of our community when it comes to supporting these fantastic causes. If you’d like to get involved, keep an eye out for donation drives, fundraising events and more ways to contribute throughout the year. Together we make a real difference.
