Wellington Place Christmas Campaign supporting Yorkshire Children’s Charity
This year Wellington Place will be supporting Yorkshire Children’s Charity and Holbeck Together through a range of festive activities.
Yorkshire Children’s Charity is a local organisation on a mission to make things better for children and young people living at a disadvantage, now and for their future. The charity’s work aims to support happier, healthier, and more independent children and young people who are empowered to meet their unique potential and have the most fulfilling future possible. Holbeck Together, situated just down the road from Wellington Place, support their community through a range of services, activities and opportunities. The area is one of the 0.2% poorest areas in England.
During November and December, Wellington Place will be hosting a number of events and activities to support the ongoing work of both charities, ensuring as many children and young people as possible wake up with gifts to open on Christmas morning.

Christmas present collection
Wellington Place will be collecting unwrapped gifts, wrapping paper and gift tags or bags at Wellington Central (6 Wellington Place) for anyone who would like to purchase a physical gift for a child. These will be donated to Holbeck Together and distributed amongst children in need in the Holbeck area. Take a look below for gift suggestions:
- Ages 0-3: soft stuffed animals, bath toys, stacking toys
- Ages 3 – 5: Building sets, dolls & dollhouses, art supplies, dress up
- Ages 6 – 9: Science kits, dress up accessories, craft kits, books
- Ages 10 – 12: Book series, art supplies, craft kits
- Ages 12+: Hobby kits, sports gear
Winter Workshops
Wellington Place will be hosting a series of craft workshops during the festive season with a percentage of proceeds donated to Yorkshire Children’s Charity. These workshops include:
Festive Wreath Making
Wednesday 19 November, 12.30pm – 1.30pm, Wellington Central
