MEPC appoints Super Friendz as events partner

MEPC, the asset manager and developer at Wellington Place, has teamed up with Leeds-based event management company Super Friendz.

The partnership will enable MEPC to provide an extended programme of events and activities across the Wellington Place development for both the onsite business community and the wider city to enjoy.

Wellington Place’s current events programme, which includes a workplace choir, sketch classes and street food markets, will be further enhanced by Super Friendz who will be bringing a host of new events to the site, including live music, craft workshops and talks from leading figures, as well as seasonal specific and weekend, family-friendly events.

Founded in 2013, Super Friendz was initially responsible for the creative output of landmark Leeds venue, Belgrave Music Hall. Since then, the team has grown to produce over 200 events per year, as well as working alongside high-profile clients such as the BBC, Channel 4, Sky and Leeds City Council.

Ben Lewis, managing director at Super Friendz, said: “Wellington Place is a beautiful site, unlike any other in Leeds. We were struck by the team’s desire to create interesting and forward-thinking event activations that benefit both their occupants and the city as a whole. The development is so much more than its buildings, and the passionate and progressive team on the ground has done an amazing job of creating a welcoming, supportive and friendly community.

“We’re excited to be working with them to continue raising the bar in terms of placemaking and increasing its already well-established reputation as one of Leeds’ leading destinations.”

Dominique Murray, marketing manager at MEPC, the developer behind Wellington Place, added: “With a host of high-profile clients and standout Leeds-based attractions on their roster, Super Friendz stood out to us as the perfect partner to promote Wellington Place. As passionate advocates for the city, we wanted to work with an events company who knows and loves Leeds much as we do, and we’re looking forward to seeing what events and experiences their expert team will deliver.

“Since Wellington Place was established in 2008, we have been hosting a range of events and activities alongside our community partners, from running clubs to beekeeping and, with the help of Super Friendz, are excited to be able to offer an even greater diversity of exciting events to a wider range of people, helping to further establish Wellington Place as a visitor destination and attraction beyond the working day.”
