Wellington Place’s Highlights of 2025

As 2025 draws to a close, we’re reflecting on another incredible year at Wellington Place. From sustainability milestones to inspiring events and exciting new additions to our community, there’s so much to celebrate.

Here’s a look back at the moments that made this year truly unforgettable!

Leading the way in sustainability

This year, we were proud that 11 & 12 Wellington Place have made history by becoming the first building in the country to achieve a certified NABERS UK Five Star Energy Rating completing the Design for Performance journey.

This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to reducing carbon emissions and delivering energy-efficient spaces for our occupiers. A huge congratulations to everyone who made this possible!

Welcoming new faces

Our vibrant community continued to thrive this year with the arrival of four fantastic names: Bean Coffee, Waki Maki, Netcompany, and Beyu Dental. From artisan coffee and fresh sushi to cutting-edge technology and dental care, these new additions bring even more energy, choice, and innovation to Wellington Place.  Each addition reflects our commitment to creating a dynamic destination where business, lifestyle, and community come together.

Empowering future generations

Our collaboration with Ahead Partnership continued to make a real impact in 2025.

In February, we hosted the Women of the Future event, giving Year 9 girls the chance to explore career opportunities in a supportive and inclusive environment. This annual initiative brings together volunteers from across our business community to help young women build confidence and overcome barriers to success.

This year also marked a major milestone. Our programmes have now supported over 1,000 young people equipping them with essential skills for the future. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and look forward to continuing this work in 2026.

Celebrating creativity with CANVAS

Art took centre stage this year with CANVAS, a new initiative to showcase local talent and transform Wellington Place into an inspiring gallery.

The month-long community arts festival, run in partnership with Leeds Arts University, brought exhibitions, colour and creativity to our spaces. Visitors enjoyed an art trail featuring incredible work by students and alumni, with maps available in local cafés and restaurants.

One year of the Wagon Lifting Hoist Mini Museum

Our beloved Wagon Lifting Hoist Mini Museum celebrated its first anniversary! Since opening in 2024, it has welcomed thousands of visitors and earned award recognition for preserving Leeds’ industrial heritage.

This year, the museum was nominated for several prestigious awards and proudly won The Avanti West Coast Community Award at the National Railway Heritage Awards. Thanks to everyone who shared memories, artefacts, and expertise. We’ve created a destination that tells the story of Leeds Central Station through photography, films, and immersive soundscapes.

Lighting up Leeds

Light Night Leeds was bigger and better than ever at Wellington Place. Our spaces were transformed into an immersive experience with dazzling installations and interactive displays, attracting hundreds of visitors.

Highlights included The Dancing Fountain (featured on ITV!), And…Breathe by Pif-Paf, The Cube, and the playful Moths at Work. It’s always a joy to bring family fun to the heart of our community and we know you’re already looking forward to next year’s silent disco!

Giving back to our community

Supporting local causes is at the heart of what we do. Throughout 2025, we raised funds and awareness for incredible charities including Yorkshire Children’s Charity, Holbeck Together, and the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

From festive gift drives to community events, these initiatives have made a real difference to families across Leeds. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, or took part- you’ve helped create lasting impact.

Looking ahead to 2026

The future is bright at Wellington Place. With exciting plans for new spaces, sustainability initiatives, and more community events, we can’t wait to share what’s next.

From all of us here, thank you for being part of an amazing year. Whether you’re an occupier, visitor, or part of the local community, your support makes everything possible.

Wishing you a joyful festive season and a fantastic start to 2026!
