How to make a difference this festive season at Wellington Place

This festive season, Wellington Place is proud to give back to the community through our chosen charities: Yorkshire Children’s Charity and Holbeck Together.

Together, we’ll celebrate the season with creative workshops, charitable giving and volunteering opportunities, all designed to make a real difference locally.

Funds raised throughout the festive period will support Yorkshire Children’s Charity, alongside gift collections for Holbeck Together.

About our chosen charities

Yorkshire Children’s Charity (YCC) is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across Yorkshire, helping them to be happier, healthier and more independent.

This winter, YCC is on a mission to raise £114,000 to keep children warm across Yorkshire by providing winter essentials and delivering the magic of Christmas through wish lists.

Holbeck Together is located just down the road from Wellington Place and supports social connection, wellbeing and independence in one of England’s most disadvantaged areas. This Christmas, we’ll help ensure local families have gifts to open on Christmas morning.

How you can get involved

Here are three ways you can give back at Wellington Place this festive season:

Drop off a gift for Holbeck Together

Help make Christmas special for everyone in our local community. A simple gift can bring joy to a child or family who might otherwise go without.

From 3rd November – 5th December, Wellington Place will host a Christmas Gift Collection at Wellington Central (9am–5pm, weekdays). Drop off new, unwrapped gifts along with wrapping paper that will be distributed to local families by Holbeck Together.

Gifts can include craft sets, books, art supplies, cuddly toys, dressing up sets and anything suitable for ages 6 months – 16 years.

Get crafty with Pyramid Arts

Looking for a fun way to get into the festive spirit? If you work at Wellington Place, join our creative workshops in collaboration with Pyramid Arts, a Leeds-based organisation empowering people with learning disabilities and autism through creativity.
