Join us for the colouring flash mob, Thursday 10th October 12pm – 2pm at the interactive art hoarding next to The Courtyard. We’ll provide the sharpies, all you need to do is come on down on your lunch break, choose a colour, make your mark and get a freebie for joining in!
10th October is Mental Health Awareness Day and there are a number of mental health benefits that come with colouring, such as a reduction in stress and anxiety levels and achieving mindfulness.
The artwork is part of a series of works created by students from Leeds College of Art commissioned by MEPC. Students from across Further and Higher Education courses at the art college were invited by MEPC to submit their best creative entries to be in with a chance of having their art showcased at Wellington Place. By altering, repositioning and redrawing the city, it not only changes the way one perceives the place but also one’s understanding of it. Janice is an illustrator based in Leeds and Hong Kong. She draws inspiration from the architecture and atmosphere of different cities around the world.
