Sky Betting and Gaming Digi Quiz raises £1500 for GIVE A DUCK Cancer Charity

The Sky Betting & Gaming charity committee held a ‘donate the duck’ quiz night at Good Luck Club on Tuesday 28 March, with capacity turnout, a raffle and bonus rounds, and a special appearance for the Chemo Duck himself.

The evening, hosted by employee volunteers saw free pizza provided to boost the brainpower, as teams of friends from across the business and charity founders, Karen and Andrew Phillips, tackled a testing digital quiz devised by SBG employees and Quizmaster John Hague. The winning team was ‘The Quack Addicts’ who took home the champions trophy.

Karen and Andrew thanked everyone for their continued generous support for the evening and other events. It is SBG’s first fundraising event this year and it is hoped that, with contributions like this, an amazing £20,000 will have been raised for Give a Duck during 2017.

Karen said: “It’s fantastic to partner with SBG for what is looking to be an exciting year. As we are a very small and young charity we rely on support from local communities and companies like Sky Betting & Gaming to help raise the majority of the £37,500 needed every year to provide every child in the UK with a specially designed Chemo Duck.”

“We were super impressed by how well organised the event was and the number of eager people that came along to support the cause. It was great to meet some of the faces behind the ideas and thank those personally who are helping us to fundraise.”

John Hague added: “It was great to be involved in organising such a fantastic event for over 100 employees, and for a great cause. I met the founders Karen and Andrew in the office a few weeks ago and I knew then I wanted to do something to help the charity grow. It’s an amazing cause, and I’m looking forward to the next round.”
